A TRIP TO ORPHANAGE

On 4th of June , few members from KL No 5 Combined Adult Division and KL Taman Bukit Maluri Combined Cadet division had a trip to the Agathian Shelter orphanage. Food and transport is provided and every member just paid RM20 as the fee for this trip. We gather at SMK Taman Bukit Maluri’s bus stop at 8am and we arrived the orphanage around 9am. At the end, we had leave there at 3pm.Before we went to the orphanage, we had finish about 1 month to settle all the preparation. For this trip, we had contact with the officer from the orphanage to understand their situation. Fortunately, all the member are kind and provided many donation as what the orphanage needs.

This fourth of June, KL No.5 Combined Adult Division and Taman Bukit Maluri Combined Cadet Division will make a trip to the Agathian Shelter orphanage at:

Mission of The Formation of KL No. 5 C.A. Division

The mission of forming an adult division in the northern border of Kuala Lumpur.

To gather the cadet members that graduated from their secondary school at northern border who would like to continue the spirit to serve St. John Ambulance.
To train adult members in various aspect of first aid skill, leadership and training skill in order to assist regional headquarters in various training programs.
To have a recruitment drive for adult members in order to let cadet members know more about adult division, benefits joining adult division.
To spread news from regional headquarters to cadet divisions at northern borders, to reduce the gap between regional headquarters and divisions at northern border.

在吉隆坡北区边界成立成人组的使命。

为了召集已从中学毕业但还想继续为圣约翰救伤队服务的精神的少年组成员。
为了培训成人组成员在各方面的急救能力、领导能力以及培训能力，为了日后可协助地区总部各种的培练课程。
成人组成员更方便让少年组成员更加了解成人组以及加入成人组的好处。
为了传播从地区总部得到的消息至在北区边界的少年组的成员，缩小地区总部和地区边界的分队之间的距离。

History of The Formation of KL No. 5 C.A. Division

For the past 15 years at northern region, the encouragement of the officer to the member for further their work in St. John Ambulance through joining the adult division was very lacking. The knowledge about joining adult division, distance of the adult division from the northern border and also lack of the adult division from the northern border and also lack of communication with the regional office had made St. John Ambulance Wilayah Persekutuan loosing hundreds of potential members from the northern border of Kuala Lumpur.
The idea of the formation of an adult division at northern area of Kuala Lumpur was brought out considering the future of the cadet members when they graduated from the secondary school. It is an issue not only for the self development of the individual members on the spirit of promoting St. John Ambulances and youth movement. It also involves the future of St. John Ambulance Wilayah Persekutuan Malaysia Kuala Lumpur.
Hence, the formation of KL Northern Central Combined Division which later on was known as KL No. 5 Combined Adult Division was carried out by Dr. Kiew Lik Jun's in 2005.

吉隆坡第五混合成人组组成的历史

在北区区域过去的十五年，只有少数成员接受官员们所鼓励加入成人组以便继续在圣约翰救伤队服务。由于缺乏关于加入成人组的知识、成人组与北区边界的距离、少数成人组成员来自北区边界以及北区边界缺少与地区总部联系的因素，导致直辖区的圣约翰救伤队流失了将近百名来自北区边界的有潜能的成员。由于考虑到从中学毕业的少年组的未来，在吉隆坡北区地区组成成人组的概念因此被带出。这不单是为了配合单独的会员在宣传圣约翰救伤队中的个人发展以及青少年的未来动向。这也牵涉了马来西亚直辖区圣约翰救伤队的未来。

因此，吉隆坡北区混合组的组成，如今也被称为吉隆坡第五混合成人组在2005年由Dr Kiew Lik Jun开始实行。
